The resolution is VGA (640 x 480) and the field of view is 40 degrees

What would happen if the vehicle was involved in an accident that was outside the field of view of the camera?

1.When footage of an incident is recorded it includes an information bar at the bottom, the gforce indicator shows from which direction an impact came.
2.Also the footage captured is 25 seconds before the incident through to 5 seconds after therefore the clip should show whether the vehicle was being driven safely before the incident and what leads to it.
3. The camera is removable so that you can record additional footage after an incident this footage linked to the earlier automatically saved clip acts as supporting evidence.

Can it film in darkness?

The camera is not capable of filming in total darkness as this could only be achieved with an infra-red camera. However, the camera chip used in the TS-1L does have a high sensitivity to low light and would be likely to pick up most images if there is for example; moonlight,, vehicle headlights or street lights during the hours of darkness.

Does it get 'blinded' by on-coming headlights?

The camera chip quickly compensates for this potential problem with special integrated automatic sensors.

What if the camera is stolen itself, can only the registered owner use it?

If the camera is stolen it is worthless to the thief, because each camera has a unique pin number, without which you can’t delete clips or download and view clips. Also the thief would not have your username and password so he could not access the online database to upload and view clips. A CCTV warning sticker is also placed on the windscreen to make criminals aware that the vehicle is CCTV protected.

Is a 30 second record long enough?

Most accidents happen within a split second and as the camera senses the collisions, a full 25 seconds of footage prior to the incident is saved

Does the device stay on when the ignition is turned off ?

Yes, the device does continue to record when the vehicle is unattended and has an intelligent chip which continuously checks the vehicle battery voltage and if this drops below a pre-determined level, the camera shuts down. This means you never return to your vehicle to find a flat battery caused by the camera.
